Mrs Whittman continues speaking over panels showing what she lists, "And now, you can fill your life with projects, the press, your shows, and your little girlfriends, but… that won't make you whole." Vincent is leaning on the vanity, face downcast and eyes obscured by the glint of his glasses. A scribbled darkness with notes of blue encroaches all around him. Behind him, the mirror is bright red, patterned with a black spiral. From the phone, his mother continues, "You're Vincent Whittman. There is no cure for that."

The top of the page is a flashback to Vincent's childhood. In the image, somewhat warped with scribbly lines that evoke the fuzziness of a bad television broadcast on a CRT TV, young Vincent hugs is curles up at the feet of his mother's looming figure, sat in her chair, her face cast in shadow except for one luminous eye (the right one).
